Late night service (between 1a.m. and 4:30a.m.) was eliminated on September 8, 1996, and was merged with Bx15 service. The original western terminus was at Fordham Road-Jerome Avenue in April 1928. Service was extended to the River Park Towers in February 1984, and Throgs Neck-bound buses started running towards Cedar Avenue and West 179th Street in September 1997.
